FDLE Practice Exam 2026 – Complete Study Guide

The term that accurately describes individuals who aspire to become gang members but have not yet been accepted is "prospects." Prospects are individuals who show interest in joining a gang and may participate in certain activities or be mentored by existing members, but they have not yet been fully initiated or accepted into the gang.

Options such as "associates" typically refer to individuals who have connections with a gang but are not considered full members, while "members" are those who have completed the initiation process and are recognized as part of the gang. The term "gonnabe" is a slang variant that might imply a desire to be part of a gang, but it is not the standard terminology used in gang culture to describe prospective candidates actively seeking membership. Thus, "prospects" is the most accurate and widely recognized term for this category of individuals.
